Great area. Went for swim at South West Rocks swimming pool a couple of days ago. Yesterday and today just hung around camp, went walking on the beach, swimming, scrabble and reading.
We have a few goannas, or rather Lace Monitors at this camp also. The largest would be 6 foot long with heaps of width too. There are also tiny skinks about an inch long.
A couple of kookaburras tried to get Tweety the other morning. They both smashed into his cage, one after the other. Nearly knocking it off the table. Good thing Tweety didn't get out of cage as she would have ripped them to bits.
Tonight we had a bbq at the light house. It has a good phone signal so Garry is watching the Crows vs Gold Coast Suns on his phone.
We are thinking of heading inland for Easter. We will head toward Armadale and check out some of the waterfalls and national parks through that area. Then probably stay inland until Queensland. We have seen the coast of northern NSW before and it is very expensive. More free camps inland and still filling in time until " the dry season".
Bye bye.x

Today at a town called Hat Head. Went fishing this morning. Could see heaps of Bream and Whiting but only the little ones wanted to eat bait.
After lunch went for swim in beautiful aqua ocean.
Now using the washing machines at the caravan park. Bit cheeky cos we are camping in the scrub still.
The showers at beach great for hair washing too.

South West Rocks.
Hi all, yesterday we travelled through the lovely Port Macquarie area, on to Hat Head National Park.
The weather has become steamy and the sub tropical forests more lush.
Our camp is a very beautiful dense coastal forest in a lovely sandy bay.
Smokey Cape Lighthouse is on a hill above us.
South West Rocks is my favourite town so far. Very beautiful, sandy beaches with patches of large rock.
Great surf and a real hippy feel to the town. There is also the MacLeay River.A large river harbour that is still and surrounded by mangroves but also cleared with parks and beaches. Looks ideal for kayak fishing.
South West Rocks also has big flash pool. Lots of natural beauty and facilities in this area. Think we may stay here for a while. Camp has pit loos that are clean and don't even stink. Yay. It's walking distance to the beach from the van and $5 per person per night again. That includes roo's, mozzy's, cicada's and kookaburra's.
Have just been down to the beach for morning hair wash / swim. The water is a aqua teal colour this morning, warm with rolling waves and strong currents. Yes we are being careful.
On a more serious note. We were very sadened to learn of Aaron's death. Our thoughts and love go out to Sharna, Emily, Michelle, Shane and Ashley. So sorry for your loss. RIP Aaron.
Garry has had problems with beach rd house needing new hot water service, septic pumping ect. so we have been living off minimal rent for a while now. So it maybe a great life stlye but we certainly need to be frugal. I get a buzz out of trying to be resorceful.
I learnt something new yesterday. Kangaroos keep their nuts above their willy. Hows that for trivia.
Bye for now.x

Crowdy Bay.
Have been at Crowdy Gap for 2 days after a quick trip through Sydney. This is a national park camp near the little town of Crowdy Head. We have the camp and beach almost to ourselves.
Have really enjoyed swimming and playing with the bodyboards here. Who needs a bathroom when you have salt water shampoo and a lovely beach. A balmy mid 20's suits me too.
Today I saw a goanna trying to run up the galvy iron roof on the loo, then sliding down again. It was making a hell of a racket but eventually made it then slid down the other side.
We just got back from a nice walk on the beach. Must go and cook tea. Bye.xx

Mouth opened.
After a wet and wild night we awoke to find the ocean had washed into Brou Lake. Much bubble and froth. This is the first time in 18 months according to locals.
The wind last night reached 80km/h.
Must go now as there is a man washing his genitals in my sink.

Brou lake Eurobodalla National Park.
Hi. Monday was a lovely sunny day. We travelled north from Tathra through Bermagui and Narooma to Eurobodalla National park. The whole area is beautiful. Hilly, coastal forest with lakes, flowing creeks, sandy beaches with rocky headlands, mountains in back ground and plenty of fauna.
We accidentally poped a large black snake with a tyre leaving Gillards Beach at Mimosa Rocks. We saw 2 really large goannas monday also. Heaps of roos. Mainly eastern grey but also smaller darker wallabies with black and yellowy bits.
Yesterday we went fishing in the kayaks on Brou lake. Didn't catch any thing but serenity. Very calm tanin stained lake, lined with native forest. The beach sand has closed the estuary mouth off. It has been closed for 18 months but apparently flathead and bream can be caught in the lake.
The beach and ocean is wild. A stormy sandy bay with Montague Island off shore.
Last night the Queen Mary went past off shore about 8pm. Roy and Sheryl were on board heading for Sydney Harbour. Garry spoke with Roy as they headed past. We couldn't see the ship but Roy could see the light house flashing near us.
Today is wet and cold so we will be reading again until it clears. Bye for now.
