Hi all, yesterday we travelled through the lovely Port Macquarie area, on to Hat Head National Park.
The weather has become steamy and the sub tropical forests more lush.
Our camp is a very beautiful dense coastal forest in a lovely sandy bay.
Smokey Cape Lighthouse is on a hill above us.
South West Rocks is my favourite town so far. Very beautiful, sandy beaches with patches of large rock.
Great surf and a real hippy feel to the town. There is also the MacLeay River.A large river harbour that is still and surrounded by mangroves but also cleared with parks and beaches. Looks ideal for kayak fishing.
South West Rocks also has big flash pool. Lots of natural beauty and facilities in this area. Think we may stay here for a while. Camp has pit loos that are clean and don't even stink. Yay. It's walking distance to the beach from the van and $5 per person per night again. That includes roo's, mozzy's, cicada's and kookaburra's.
Have just been down to the beach for morning hair wash / swim. The water is a aqua teal colour this morning, warm with rolling waves and strong currents. Yes we are being careful.
On a more serious note. We were very sadened to learn of Aaron's death. Our thoughts and love go out to Sharna, Emily, Michelle, Shane and Ashley. So sorry for your loss. RIP Aaron.
Garry has had problems with beach rd house needing new hot water service, septic pumping ect. so we have been living off minimal rent for a while now. So it maybe a great life stlye but we certainly need to be frugal. I get a buzz out of trying to be resorceful.
I learnt something new yesterday. Kangaroos keep their nuts above their willy. Hows that for trivia.
Bye for now.x
