A few days ago we left Little Styx River. After actually catching a couple of Trout there. Yeee haaaa !!! A very beautiful variety of fish! Caught with a light line, small float, swivel, hook with a worm, in the shallow rapids.
First stop, on the next step of our journey north, was Wollomombi falls. A very spectacular deep george with two extremely long waterfalls, some of the longest in Oz.
Then onto Mann River, our next camp. I believe this is the best camp yet. A grassy, sloping area with roos and whiptail wallabies, on the banks of the Mann River. Fast flowing rapids, lots of granite bolders, native oaks, nestled in the mountains on the way to Washpool National Park. Near World Heritage Way. Camp is about 50k ENE?? of Glen Innes.
Have good company too. Bill and Shirley Mayo from Taree, are our neighbours. We have shared a fire and lots of good chats. Garry roasted some chessnuts in the fire for us. The chopped wood is supplied here too. Not bad value for a free camp.
Also a carwash but no suds or coin to be used.
Today we went for a drive through Washpool and Gibraltar Range National Parks. Saw some amazing rainforests, waterfall and chrystal clear streams. Had a lovely day with my best buddy.
Came across a blow up doll at Raspberry Lookout. Lol.
Bye bye x.
