Had a lovely Sunday drive to Crescent Head yesterday. What an amazing town but very crowded with visitors. The town has a natural beauty as cliffs, rocks, lawn, norfolk island pines, native vegetation, sandy beach and the river meet the massive swell from the ocean. The headland is a surf reserve, with a right hand reef break. On the other side of the head is Pebble Beach. A small bay with large rocks, pebbles and some rock pools that collected water from the huge waves that foamed over them. Local kids swam in these wild rock pools with spray splashing all over them and frothing into the pools. Looked dangerous but fun.
The surf was fantastic too. Massive steep waves, close to shore that gave a tribe of surfers a long ride into the bay. It was lovely watching them. Lots of them were only in there early teens. Gutsy little buggers with bleached hair and a tan. The ones on shore zipped past on skateboards with bare feet.
There was a park along the mouth of a fast flowing river that flowed into the bay. Heaps of people were floating on surf boards, blow up thongs ect. Riding the clear river into the bay. No wonder the place was packed. Easter Sunday in Heaven.
We are getting our back windsceen replaced in Kempsey prior to heading in land toward Armadale area.
Have been missing family over easter and Mum and Dads 50th wedding anniversary.
Garry and I enjoyed a quiet but lovely
10th Wedding anniversary on good friday. It is wonderful to share this trip and my life with such a lovely man. We have been having great fun. Today had a swim in a new calm bay a couple of km's from camp. Was great until it started to rain.
Enough gloating. Bye for now. Miss you all. Happy Easter xx.
